Bake sale and Raising awareness, May 2022

Our fundraising committee organised a small bake sale to raise a few pennies and encourage people to come over and talk to us. Most people do not realise we are a charity. It is essential that we continue to promote our service and secure additional funding for the future.

It was great to have members of the public come up to us and ask questions directly. It gave our clients some of that much wanted face-to-face interaction and we were able to give those clients immediate advice.

Fish and Chip quiz night- Fundraising event, March 2022

Our fundraising committee organised our first fundraising event of 2022. This event was held at Peartree Spring Primary School in Stevenage. Our event was a great success. We thoroughly enjoyed hosting a social face-to-face event after what has felt like a very long time.

All of the money raised will go directly back into supporting our local community.  We want to thank all of those that attended and made it a great success! We look forward to hosting our next event in Summer.

Our quiz and raffle raised an amazing £403.81.

Helping Herts fundraising walk, October 2021

HelpingHerts is a campaign sponsored by Stort Valley Rotary Club and the initiative is designed to raise money for hospices and Citizens Advice offices across Hertfordshire.  Each charity raises money by organising sponsored events, which can be walking, running, cycling etc.

All of the money that we raise from sponsors will come direct to our office and will help us support the local community.

Our team took part in a sponsored walk around Stevenage Town and we raised an incredible £705.

Annual general meeting, November 2021

Our 2021 AGM took place in person for the first time since 2019. It was great to finally come together and see the faces that support our organisation and it gave us the much needed space to safely socialise with one another.

We were lucky enough to have a guest speaker, Ila Chandavarkar. She gave a presentation around Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. She provided real life examples and plenty of opportunities for us to think about things more broadly. She highlighted that discrimination is very much a constant in our environment nowadays and the reasons this could occur.
